This Saturday we will be running a charity drive for the food bank and community links. I am asking that families donate non-perishable food items and bottles for the Airdrie Food Bank. Also any warm clothing like socks, gloves, jackets, toques, scarves ect in gently used or new condition. The clothing will be donated to Community Links for their "Vault" program to help families in need within Airdrie.
Ashley has booked a free truck for us that will be at Ron Ebbesen from 1pm-3:30pm for all collections to be dropped off to one spot. Thank you Ashley!
I would like for us to meet at Ron Ebbesen at 1pm. We can then drop the donations we've already collected and then go out into the community to ask for donations.
If you can't make it Saturday but would still like to donate please bring donations to practice Tuesday. I will take them home and store them until Saturday.
Anyone that you know that would like to donate is more than welcome to drop them off Saturday between 1pm-3:30 pm at Ron Ebbesen or at my house 214 Canals Circle SW. There is always someone home so people can drop donations there anytime.
If you can make it Saturday please let me know so I can have an idea of how many people there will be. Anyone that can make it and is willing to use their truck when we go out into the community to ask for donations please let me know.
An invite has been sent to my sons U9 team to join us in collecting on Saturday as an opportunity for our U11s to mentor them as well. Anyone is welcome to participate!
I really hope we can all band together on this one and help out the Food Bank and Community Links. The donations won't only help people but I feel that it holds great value for our kids. Mentorship of the players on and off the ice is important to me as a coach.
Thank you for your support
Sincerely
Robert Haworth
